History

Founded in June 2003 through the unified and untiring efforts of the incorporators headed by Hon. Mamerto D. Galanida, Ed.D. The first and only tertiary school in Bucas Grande Island, situated in the hilly, serene and scenic mountainside of Brgy. Don Albino Taruc, Socorro, Surigao del Norte, with the primary purpose of providing low-cost but quality education.

CHED granted Government Recognition Permit (GR R13=140102=01, series of 2013) for Bachelor of Business Administration program, expanding the college's academic portfolio and providing more opportunities for business-oriented students in the region.

BGFC became accredited as a training and assessment center by the Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for qualifications including Computer Hardware Servicing NC II, Housekeeping NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II, and Bookkeeping NC III.

With the current development of BGFC, including its instructional facilities, the college continues to uphold its commitment to excellence and produce quality graduates in response to global education demands, carrying the huge responsibility to build-up its vision and mission completely.
